La Biblioteca di Studi Religiosi, avviata nel 1985, intende offrire a chi è interessato ai valori della cultura e dello spirito umano delle ricerche su argomenti al centro del dibattito o comunque dell'attenzione della sensibilità culturale, teologica e spirituale di oggi. L'obiettivo rimane sempre l'uomo, che S. Agostino definisce magra quaestio e grande profundum: è infatti un grande problema e un profondo abisso per l'intelligenza che innerva tutto il suo essere, per la libertà di cui dispone, per la sensibilit&à che risente delle esigenze dell'una e delle scelte dell'altra. L'uomo che desidera la verità e si vede ingannato dall'errore, che vuole la libertà e si sente soffocato da condizionamenti e servaggi, che ama di amare e d'essere amato senza raggiungere il vero amore. Quest'uomo che si trova alle soglie del terzo millennio, arbitro del suo destino, ha bisogno di luce e di certezza. La fede cristiana, nelle sue articolazioni culturali e nella sua guida morale, può offrirle entrambe. Questa umile, ma ferma consapevolezza giustifica la presente Collana, che si offre come un servizio per l'uomo del nostro impegnativo momento storico.

The Biblioteca di Studi Religiosi, created in 1985, to whoever may be interested in the values of culture and the human spirit it aims to offer research into themes at the centre of the debate, focusing its attention on today's cultural, theological and spiritual sensitivity. Its objective is still man, defined by S. Agostino as magna quaestio and grande profundum and who is a great problem and a deep abyss fot the intelligence that innervated his very being, for the freedom he has and for his sensitivity that faces both the demands of the one and the choices of the other. Man, who wants the truth and considers himself tricked by error, who wants freedom and yet feels suffocated by conditioning, who loves to love and be loved without ever reaching real love. This man, who is on the threshold of the third millennium, referee of his own destiny, needs light and certainty; the Christain faith, with its cultural utterances and moral guide can offer both of them. Such a humble, but firm awareness justifies this series, which offers itself as a service for the man of this telling historic moment.
